Travel to Mykonos - without some history?

Mykonos is situated on the islands of the Cyclades and looking at the map of the Aegean Sea we find it between Naxos, Tinos, Paros and Ikaria. It is administratively united with the historic Delos, Rhenia and some rocky islets. Mykonos has been inhabited since the 5th millennium BC. (the prehistoric settlement of Ftelia) with a long history apart from what most people know, the cosmopolitan ancient Delos of the period of its commercial acme (the Hellenistic-Roman period). Mykonos is one of the first islands in Greece to have used its natural resources for tourism, which was and is the sun and the sea. These figures have been made since the mid-1950s, when the first then tourists , now great lovers of this historic and mysterious island were the timid ones.
